Couples: Don’t let marriage make you fat.

Why do people gain weight after marriage? Some people attribute it to frequent sex, some to feelings of contentment while some to good food (and eating a lot of it).
A 2012 study found that couples who have been married for two years or longer are more likely to gain weight than their single counterparts. According to the study, newly married women in their early 20s gain an average of 10kg in the first five years of marriage and men in the same age group gain an average of 13kg during that same period.
There are a number of reasons that could be responsible for weight gain after marriage. A single person would want to stay slender, look attractive and get the attention of the opposite sex. Once married, the pressure to stay fit is off and feelings of satisfaction and security take over. Weight gain is therefore more likely.
Married people also tend to prepare larger meals at home, which could invariably lead to eating more. It is also likely that a married person would eat some foods they wouldn’t normally eat but because their spouse wants to eat such foods.
If you are married, you should know that marriage is not a license to gain weight. Your weight is as important as it was as a single person and now as a married person. Weight is not just about physical appearance; it greatly determines the state of your health (physical, mental and social).
If you are not yet married, don’t be scared of “marriage fat” or the “love chub”, you can remain as fit as you are now then. Just bear in mind that you have to work at it. For the married, here are some of the things you should start to do if you have not started already.
  • Make working out or exercising an integral part of your relationship
  • Prepare healthy meals and eat them in moderation. Do not be tempted to eat leftovers when you are full
  • Reduce eating out
  • Create time for outdoor activities. Do not spend most leisure watching TV
  • Monitor your weight; don’t get too comfortable and care less about your weight and appearance.
Endeavour to Work Out Always.

Happiness, the KEY to Success

So many people are thinking that they will be happy only if they graduate from university, find a dream job, earn a high income, drive a big car, live in a big house... and the list goes on. However, they failed to realize that whenever they achieve their goal, they will aim for a bigger goal and never get to be truly happy.

In fact, happiness is a choice, it does not require any of the above to happen. You can choose to be happy when the weather is great, when you eat a hearty meal, when you find the time to take a nap.

Make your choice! Be happy now!

The Elephant Rope

As a man was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.

He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. “Well,” trainer said, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away.

They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”

The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.

Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before? How many of us are held back in life because of a limiting belief?

Failure is part of learning; we should never give up the struggle in life.

Identify a limiting belief and overcome it! Do share the limiting belief that you are determined to overcome.

Cheers.

Saturday Story... BUTTERFLY

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further.

So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissor and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.

The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time. Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.

What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If God allowed us to go through our lives without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. We could never fly!

Have a fun filled weekend.. .

Sometimes You Need CHARACTER, Not Prayer.

#pauseandpounder
No matter how we pray, attitude has its place. This is the strong truth a lot of today's Christian fail to understand.
Prayer is good, but prayer isn't the answer to everything.
Somewhere in the scriptures, the Bible says that before we pray, he will answer...
You know why?
Because we've exhibited attitudes that will attract miracles...

People, sometimes pray for miracles to happen, what you need is character, not prayer, not speaking in tongues.
God is a spirit, and for him to bless you, he needs to pass through a man.

If you lack good relationships with men, you'll hardly be blessed.
God works with relationship.
You must learn to treat people with courtesy..

The Shunammite woman must have been praying for a child all through her life.
I'm sure!
She was a prominent woman and surely she had money but couldn't buy a child.

You know what made her have a child?
She took care of Elisha, a man of God.
She respected him, she was hospitable, kind, and exhibit good character!

Elisha, spoke into her womb and in a year, she had a child.
Assuming she wasn't polite, kind and hospitable?
She might still been praying, fasting, binding and casting demons that doesn't exist.

Sometimes, we are our demons. Our attitudes are our destiny killers.
Some of us have insulted people that were divinely orchestrated to help us in the journey of our life...
Some of us are keeping malice with our destiny helper...
Some of us are still suffering, not because we lack talent(s) but because we lack character.

Talent is attractive.
Anyone can be talented, but character is a proof of discipline. A proof of responsibility.
Character sustains the attraction talent gives you.
Character is virtue, and sometimes what we call FAVOUR is triggered by virtue.

Mary was a Virgin. She had virtue! Which attracted the favour of being the mother of the Saviour of the world!!!
In all thy getting, get character...
Respect people.
Treat strangers with courtesy...
Be kind...
Your Angel won't always come like an Angel...
Look down on nobody, anyone can change your life.

It was the maid of Naaman, that told him where to get healing. Naaman was a great man but had leprosy. He must have visited the greatest hospital in the world as of that time. Who would have ever thought that the solution to his problem was in the mouth of his maid?

Sometimes the solutions of our problems are trapped in the mouths of mere people, but many of us are not humble enough to see it.

Prayer is not all. Build relationships. God will use man.
Respect people. Get character.

Have a great day.

Success Can Only Happen When You Decide What You Want

If success is defined as a daily process of moving towards our goals, then we must first be clear about what our goals are.

If you do not define what your goals are, then how can you tell if the actions you take daily are moving in the direction or not?
Without goals, success is impossible.

Imagine playing a soccer game without knowing where the goal post is.
You won't know where to run to or which direction to aim the ball at.
Without a goal post, you cannot keep score on the game and tell if you are winning or losing.

It may seem absurd to play a ball game without knowing where the goal post is.
However, isn't this the way most people play their game of life?

Many people never decide what they really want; what their goals are.
As a result, they take sporadic actions, in all directions and end up achieving nothing.

Do You Ever Ask 'Why Me?' When Life Is Good?

Dearest,

Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player, was dying of AIDS. He contracted HIV during the blood transfusions he had received during a heart surgery in 1983.

From all over the world, he received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed: "Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease?"

To this Arthur Ashe replied:
"The world over, 50 million children start playing tennis, 5 million learn to play tennis, 500,000 learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5000 reach the grand slam, 50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final, and 2 make it to the finals.

When I was holding a cup, I never asked GOD 'Why me? And today, in pain, I should not be asking GOD 'Why me?'"

With Love,
Yhemmy

Note:-
Happiness keeps you Sweet,
Trials keep you Strong,
Sorrow keeps you Human,
Failure keeps you Humble and Success keeps you Glowing,
But only Faith & Attitude keeps you Going.

1. Take risks in your life. If you win, you can lead; if you lose, you can guide.

2. People are not what they say but what they do; so judge them not from their words but from their actions.

3. When someone hurts you, don't feel bad because it's a law of nature that the tree that bears the sweetest fruits gets maximum number of stones.

4. Take whatever you can from your life because when life starts taking from you, it takes even your last breath.

5. In this world, people will always throw stones on the path of your success. It depends on what you make from them - a wall or a bridge.

6. Challenges make life interesting; overcoming them make life meaningful.

7. There is no joy in victory without running the risk of defeat.

8. A path without obstacles leads nowhere.

9. Past is a nice place to visit but certainly not a good place to stay.

10. You can't have a better tomorrow if you are thinking about yesterday all the time.

11. If what you did yesterday still looks big to you, then you haven't done much today.

12. If you don't build your dreams, someone else will hire you to build theirs.

13. If you don't climb the mountain; you can't view the plain.

14. Don't leave it idle - use your brain.

15. You are not paid for having brain, you are only rewarded for using it intelligently.

16. It is not what you don't have that limits you; it is what you have but don't know how to use.

17. What you fail to learn might teach you a lesson.

18. The difference between a corrupt person and an honest person is: The corrupt person has a price while the honest person has a value.

19. If you succeed in cheating someone, don't think that the person is a fool...... Realize that the person trusted you much more than you deserved.

20. Honesty is an expensive gift; don't expect it from cheap people.

This is very interesting post and I want all my friends and followers to benefit.

Surest Way to Cheer you Up Instantly

Do you agree that no matter how perfectly we try to live our lives, it is inevitable that we will meet with the valleys that come out ways? There will always be times which are testing for us, times where we doubt ourselves and feel just downright disappointed and unhappy with life.

I definitely have gone through such days as well. I remembered a very dark period of my life was when I went through my very first break up.
It was a time where I doubted my own decision making process, I wondered if I was even too trusting, or even whether people were worth trusting at all.

It was a challenging time where negative thoughts full of questions about who's wrong and who's right kept harassing my mind. Indeed, it was almost like I had no control over what thoughts kept flashing up.

I remembered then telling myself, that I just had to let go. I asked myself what was the purpose of even holding on to these thoughts?
I knew there was no purpose at all of dwelling in the negativity. It would just make me feel sadder. I knew I had to move on.

During that dark period, was also when I first learnt how to snap myself out of such negative thinking. Initially, I had to made a very conscious effort to catch myself and switch my thoughts. However, it soon became a habit.

So, what thoughts do I easily switch out to?

Our human mind is a very interesting one. When we ask ourselves the right questions, it suddenly changes our perspective immediately.

I used to asked myself: What is ONE thing, that I can be thankful for today?

I was indeed thankful for my loved ones, thankful for my friends who gathered around to support me through that period, thankful for my parents who were financing me through school, thankful for the
blue clouds, and green trees - who continued to look their best as
though they were cheering me on.

So today, my friend, if you are dealing with a dark period of your
life too, ask yourself: What is ONE thing, that you can be thankful for today?

If at first, nothing comes to mind, think harder. You will find the answer deep within you.

Values

The diary of Value

Value! What do you value in life? What you value will tell what your life is all about.

Value is something you cherish and take very important.

As a young dreamer, how much do you value your time? If you don't value your life, you can't value your time.

That reminds me of the primary school rhyme about time which says, "Tick says the clock, Tick tick, what you have to do, do quick."

You need to know how to manage your calender, else you won't have anything to count at the end of the day.

Time managers are destiny makers. Destiny makers are life changers. Life changers are world shakers. World shakers are record breakers. Record breakers are history makers.

What would you want generations to come to talk about you? Is it how you refused to generate great things or how you were able to turn history around because you valued it?

Pause & Ponder!
